The Real Estate Council of Ontario, the regulatory body that licenses and governs real estate brokerages, brokers, and salespersons in Ontario under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA). RECO’s mandate is to protect the public interest in real estate transactions. It handles consumer complaints, disciplines registrants for misconduct, sets education requirements, and ensures all registrants carry mandatory errors and omissions insurance. Consumers can verify a registrant’s license status on RECO’s public registry.
