Eastwood: A well-treed, community-spirited neighbourhood with Eastwood Collegiate at its heart
Eastwood is a small, established neighbourhood on Kitchener’s east side, just north of the Conestoga Parkway. Its roots go back to the late 1940s and early 1950s. Bungalows, 1.5-storeys, and some low-rise apartments sit on lots with mature trees that have had seventy-plus years to grow. The Eastwood Neighbourhood Association is one of the city’s more active community groups. They have planted native trees, created community corners, and helped establish a disc golf course in nearby Montgomery Park. Eastwood Collegiate Institute sits right within the community — a genuine neighbourhood anchor. The ION LRT runs just west of the neighbourhood, and Kitchener Market is a short drive away.
Schools
Public elementary students attend Sheppard Public School from JK through Grade 6, then Sunnyside Senior Public School for Grades 7 and 8, before attending Eastwood Collegiate Institute — located right within the neighbourhood. Catholic elementary students attend St. Anne Catholic Elementary School, followed by St. Mary’s High School.
